How Smoking Causes Wrinkles

Wrinkles from smoking – is it possible?

According to doctors, the answer is yes because smoking accelerates the normal aging process of your skin and contributes to wrinkles.

There are no immediate direct effects but they can appear after you have smoked for ten  years. However, this is irreversible.

After sun exposure, smoking is the second leading cause of wrinkles.

It interferes with the absorption of Vitamin A and C both of which provide skin protection. This is because nicotine promotes dehydration.

Smoking narrows the blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin. This weakens blood flow depleting it of oxygen and important nutrients. It also damages collagen and elastin.

The heat from the cigarette causes irritation around the eyes and forces the smoker to squint more. This leads to increased wrinkles especially around the eyes.

So, quit smoking because no amount of anti-aging cream in the market will remove the wrinkles caused by cigarette smoking.

If you fail to do so, you are just wasting money buying creams and moisturizers.
