Using fake tanning products is a great way to have that tanned look without the damage caused by sun exposure.

Your skin must be clean before applying the product and you must ensure that it is applied evenly to remain streak free.
The higher quality tanning products are a lot easier to apply and there will be less chance of having ugly streaks after application.
You can wear lightly tinted or transparent foundations and powders with artificial tanners.
You can also wear a lightly tinted moisturizer that will improve the natural look of the fake tan.
