The secret to beautiful, healthy skin is to follow a beauty regimen specific to your skin type.

What is your skin type is determined by genetics, diet, environmental factors and beauty products that you use. Regardless of your type, you can have glowing skin!

Your skin stays healthy only if it produces enough of sebum. Thanks to this natural oil, your skin is soft and supple.

Unfortunately, most women don’t have a healthy level of sebum. The skin either produces too little, too much or unbalanced levels of sebum.

- Dry skin does not produce enough sebum. It is generally hereditary, but other factors – washing too often with soap and water, indoor coolers and heaters, a dry climate and cold weather conditions – also play a part.
Avoid over-washing dry skin, and always use cool water when cleansing. You should also exfoliate your skin gently. Apply moisturizer as soon as you are done with cleansing. Use moisturizers that also protect against sun damage.

- Oily skin produces too much sebum. It is susceptible to blackheads, breakouts and blemishes.

Wash oily skin with warm water and a gentle cleanser. Apply a mild oil-free moisturizer after each wash. Do not forget to use a gentle exfoliant.

- Combination skin is the most common skin type. It means that there is an unbalanced combination of dry (near the cheeks, eyes and mouth) and oily (near the forehead, nose and chin) skin. Cleanse dry skin with moisturizers and oily skin with astringents.
