Regardless of your skin type or age, you should have a good, home skin care regimen. It is necessary to nourish your skin and protect it against the elements.

A daily regimen that includes the basics will keep your skin looking beautiful. Here are basic tips:

1. Cleansing

- Cleanse your face and neck every morning and night.

- If you have very dry or sensitive skin, wash once a day and moisturize two or more times a day.

- Use warm water and a mild cleanser (free of harsh detergents, alcohol or chemical fragrances).

- Gently massage the cleanser over your face, and rinse by splashing with warm water. Pat gently with a clean towel; do not pull or tug on your skin.

2. Toning

- Use a cotton ball or pad.

- Apply toner in gentle upward sweeping motions.

3. Moisturize

- Apply moisturizer every morning and night regardless of your skin type.

- Apply is with your fingertips, using gentle upward strokes.

4.  Protect

- Use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 every day.

- If you spend a lot of time outside, look for an SPF of 30 or above.

Your daily skin care regimen can also include eye creams, exfoliation, masks or different day and night creams if you feel the need.
