A study found that chemical peels for acne are a great medical treatment!
Common facial acne affects about 85% percent of all people 12 to 24 years old.
The good news for people who suffer from mild to moderately severe face acne is that there is a tested method to get rid of the skin disorder.
Researchers at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine have recently found that chemical peels using either alpha-hydroxy acid or beta-hydroxy acid are both very effective in treating these acne.
Both types of treatments are similarly effective in reducing lesions caused by face acne. However, peels using beta-hydroxy acid have slightly fewer side effects and results that lasted a bit longer than did peels using alpha-hydroxy acid.
The side effects, which usually decrease over the course of the treatment, include redness, peeling and scaling.
