Truth About 3 Day Tuna Diet

Some say that 3 day tuna diet is the fastest way to lose 10 to 15 pounds or even more in short period of time. However, there are some facts you should be aware of before trying that diet.

The three day tuna diet is one of today’s favorite crash diets. There is a false impression that there is no health risk because the time frame of the diet is short.

The truth is that when you use this type of low calorie diet you are badly affecting your metabolism. In actual fact, after this diet is completed, weight gain usually takes place.

In essence, this is a starvation diet. Soon after starting the 3 day tuna diet, you will begin to feel sluggish and cold. Some people have reported dreaming about food. These are all  symptoms of your body being in starvation mood.

Additionally, the three day tuna diet has such a low calorie count that it should be considered a very low calorie diet. This diet gives the false impression of lasting for 3 days. The truth is you are on and off the diet for 30 days.

Foods that you eat aren’t balanced and therefore you will not see any permanent weight loss. You can have some small amounts of fish and chicken, some peanut butter, a few vegetables and an apple for dinner.

The refined carbohydrates, which make up a large part of the diet, have very little nutritional value. Food cravings are increased when you have so few calories.

Even if you do make it through the three days every week, you are likely to eat unhealthy foods during the 4day period, in which you are free to eat what you want.

Studies show that the average dieter will ultimately gain up to 8 pounds in the weeks after the diet.

Conclusion

The 3 day tuna diet may help you lose pounds in the beginning but in the end you will gain the weight back you lost and maybe more.
