At Home Manicure Tips

Today, getting a manicure is a common practice for a lot of women. If you go to a nail salon, you will be amazed at how many women you will find there.

However, many women do not have the money or the time to get regular salon manicures. If this is the case with you, here are some tips to do your own at home manicures.

Use one of those one minute manicure products to scrub your hands. A good product is by Beauty Control. It’s a good exfoliate and also has essential oils in it. The oils keep your hands feeling smooth and silky for hours, even after repeated hand washing.

In addition, the oils also help to moisturize your cuticles. This eliminates that time consuming step of having to soak your hands in a bowl of water.

While your cuticles are soft you should push them back. You can use either an orange stick or a cuticle pusher.

This is the basic of at home manicure. If you have a little more time on your hands, you can proceed with shaping your nails.

Shaping can be complicated. You should stroke the emery board in the same direction, rather than back and forth. This will prevent damage to the nail.

The last and most important step in an at home manicure, is the polish. Try to put the polish on in thin even coats. Three brush strokes is the best way, one stroke for each side, and one stroke right down the middle of the nail.
