Side Effects of Facial Laser Resurfacing
Facial laser resurfacing is popular and effective form of wrinkle treatment.
However, many consumers are not aware of a variety of dangerous and bad side effects that are linked to laser resurfacing treatments and the numbing cosmetics used to help people cope with the pains that accompany the healing process.
The FDA has recently issued a warning about the potentially life-threatening side effects associated with the usage of a number of the usually prescribed topical anesthetics that are used in post treatment.
The side effects include irregular heart beat, seizures, coma, and slowed or stopped breathing following the use of lidocaine and tetracaine to reduce the pain after facial laser resurfacing treatment.
Some patients died after falling into a coma as a result of their body absorbing too much of these numbing drugs into their bloodstream.
