Oprah and the Bob Greene Best Life Diet Criticism

Oprah and the Bob Greene “Best Life” diet plan come under some criticism lately.

Oprah has been known for her weight loss struggles and since she is one of the most popular women on television it is not surprising that much of what she says is considered gospel by her audience. The Oprah weight loss challenge was coupled with Bob Greene’s weight loss plan the “Best Life” diet and as such it was certain to draw attention.

The plan is not cheap, although in the world of celebrity endorsed diet plans it is one of the least expensive. $50 per quarter buys you the membership and allows you access to the website to join the community and work the diet that Oprah has greatly touted.

New members are somewhat surprised to find that the “Best Life” plan is really no diet at all, but instead it is a common sense approach to eating and exercising.

The goal is a lifestyle change but it is so gradual that most individuals will not see the dramatic changes in body weight.

The overall goal of being healthy rather than skinny makes some of the participants in the plan a bit unhappy as they are accustomed to diets, but not really to the position of leading an overall healthy life that views weight loss as a secondary aspect of living well.

Oprah and the Bob Greene “Best Life” diet draw criticism primarily because many consumers are not satisfied with the idea of simply following some common sense advice to becoming fit and staying healthy in the long run.

Obese people are searching for some serious help in shedding the pounds before their health is seriously affected and the Bob Greene is most certainly not the right plan for those in such need.

While it is true that in the long run this is most likely a wonderful way of staying fit and healthy, in the short term it does not live up to its promises.

Aside from this problem, some have suggested that Oprah’s personal trainer might not be the best authority to believe when it comes to weight loss because her weight has been going up and down in the past and until she proves that this time the weight loss is for real, it would be wiser to stay out of the diet business altogether.
