New Injectable Facial Fillers Technique

No more pain while undergoing a face-lift! This a big news for all women and men who are thinking about using injectable facial fillers to help keep skin looking younger.

Scientists from UT Southwestern Medical Centre have developed a new injection technique that eases discomfort and speeds up recovery.

Other benefits of the new technique include less pain during injections, less swelling afterward and less time in the office waiting for anesthesia to take effect.

The technique combines 2% lidocaine (a dental anaesthetic) with injections of facial fillers such as Restylane or Radiesse.

This combination provides an immediate numbing effect as the filler is injected.

The study appears in journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
