Do Collagen Creams Work? YES!

A comprehensive study discovered that anti-ageing treatments that focus on rebuilding and replenishing collagen actually work.

Researchers at the University of Michigan says that some of the anti-aging methods available in the market are a surefire way to get rid of wrinkles, deep creases, saggy areas around the mouth and neck.

The researchers said that these problems are caused due to collagen collapse inside the skin and that some existing treatments successfully counteract by stimulating the renewal of new, youthful collagen.

In other words, some treatments have the potential to help prevent this collapse of collagen that leads to wrinkles.

Of course, not all collagen creams and treatments are effective. Look for those containing retinol, a form of Vitamin A.

The researchers found that these three types of skin treatments are effective: topical retinoic acid, carbon dioxide laser resurfacing and injections of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

These treatments all improve the skin’s appearance by stimulating new collagen.

The study findings are published in the Archives of Dermatology.
