Anti-Aging Properties of Red Wine

Resveratrol, a chemical found in red wine, counteracts aging, according to a recent study.

Experts believe that resveratrol cancels out aging effects and extends life.

In the study, mice were given a low dose of resveratrol (found in the skins of some grapes), and it was discovered that the ingredient may retard some aspects of aging by up to 30%.

The study by researchers from the University of Wisconsin, showed that resveratrol may be effective in mice and people in much lower doses than previously thought necessary. Mice on the study were given a dose equivalent to 35 bottles a day.

Resveratrol can be obtained in the form of capsules marketed by several companies.

The study was published in the Public Library of Science One.
