They’ve been in the hunt for that fountain of youth for a number of centuries now. It’s about time for somebody to FIND it, don’t you think? We can’t just sit here growing older (and looking it) until somebody does find the fountain of youth, though.
Nobody is promising eternal youth here, but there are simple things that a woman can do to make herself appear younger than she really is, and none of these suggestions involve expensive and painful plastic surgery. Most of us couldn’t afford it.
It’s pretty easy to see why the movie stars can stay looking so young for so long — they have dozens of cosmetic “procedures” done that the rest of us couldn’t pay for. Still, there are some simple things that we can do.
Hairstyle: There is nothing that dates a woman more than an old-fashioned hairstyle. If you’re wearing your hair in the same style that you’ve been wearing it for the last 10, 20, or more years, it’s time to modernize. Go to a good hairdresser and have him or her give you a modern hairstyle — and while you are there, have your hair colored or highlighted, too.
Fragrance: Are you still wearing the same fragrance that you wore to your senior prom when you graduated high school? Guess what? Everybody knows that fragrance is an old one, and it practically tells others how old you are. Of course you like it, but you will like one of the new fragrances, too. Just try them and you will find one that suits you.
Makeup: When all else fails…CHEAT! There are some terrific makeup products out there on the market today. There are primers that you can use after you apply your moisturizer that will actually fill in wrinkles. Be sure that the shade or shades of makeup that you use match your coloring now. Lighten up, too. Those heavy dark colors don’t make you look younger — they date you.
